Orc Software’s advanced trading platform to support Solaris 10

Stockholm, Sweden – 3 October 2005 - Orc Software (SSE: ORC) today announced that the Orc System, a platform for advanced market making, trading and brokerage, will now be available for the Solaris 10 Operating System (OS). Orc Software will deliver support for the platform in version 5.2 of the Orc System, scheduled for release in Q4 2005. Solaris 10 is by far the most popular operating system for algorithmic trading applications. The Solaris 10 OS brings unprecedented performance, increased reliability, and optimal efficiencies with exclusive features such as DTrace and Solaris Containers.” Previously, the Orc System supported Solaris 8 and Solaris 9. With the addition of Solaris 10 support, customers will benefit from improved network performance for online real-time processing and a diagnostic engine to quickly identify any bottlenecks. An early version of Orc System 5.2 is available as of today to existing customers as part of a public preview release. The Orc System is a powerful single platform for advanced market making, trading and brokerage. It is designed to handle the markets’ demands, such as high trading volumes, fast execution and comprehensive risk management. The system provides direct market access to more than 100 markets around the world, including all major exchanges, ECNs and other liquidity pools.
