Origin Food Group Attends White House Event at Invitation of the U.S. Department of Agriculture
Producer of früsh™ Yogurt & Fruit Shakes Recognized
for Success in Manufacturing in Rural America
STATESVILLE, N.C. – Feb. 23, 2012 – Origin Food Group, LLC principals attended an event at the White House this past Friday, February 17, 2012. Hosted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture, the event recognized the success of manufacturing in rural America.

David Stamey, a partner in Origin Food Group, attended the White House event, accompanied by Chris Hill of BB&T. In attendance were 47 representatives of manufacturing companies around the country, along with their bankers. They were greeted and honored by Judith Canales, Administrator of the U.S.D.A. The luncheon speaker was United States Secretary of Agriculture, Tom Vilsack.
“Bringing früsh to market has been due to a great partnership with both the U.S.D.A. and BB&T. We are very proud to bring healthy foods to consumers using natural locally sourced ingredients,” said David Stamey. “It really is an honor to be awarded for this effort,” he added.
Remarks were offered to the group by Doug O’Brien, Deputy Undersecretary, U.S. Department of Agriculture, Rural Development; Alan B. Krueger, Chairman, President’s Council of Economic Advisors; Jason Miller, Special Assistant to the President for Manufacturing Policy and Doug McKalip, Senior Policy Advisor for Rural Affairs, White House Domestic Policy Council.
Origin Food Group’s new $7+ million facility in Iredell County is the largest and first value-added dairy plant to produce yogurt in North Carolina.
