Orkla Food Ingredients (OFI) acquires Sebmag, a sales and distribution company of bakery and confectionery ingredients in Poland.

Under the agreement, OFI acquires 100% of the shares in Sebmag. The seller is Bogdan Dabrowski, who founded the company in 2000.

In 2011, Sebmag had a turnover of approx. EUR 5.2 million and 20 employees. The company is located in Ciechanów, 80 km northeast of Warsaw, and also has a branch in Lomza.

"This acquisition is in line with OFI's growth strategy and enlarges our market position in the region. Sebmag has shown strong growth over the last years, especially in the artisan bakery segment. Together with Merkur, acquired in 2010, Sebmag will strengthen OFI's sales and distribution organisation in Poland," says Vitor Silva, CEO of Credin Group.

Vitor Silva will be the chairman of the board, while Bogdan Dabrowski will continue in the position as managing director of the company.
