Production resources comprise three presses with a capacity of approximately 20,000 tonnes. The company also has its own building system and resources for surface treatment and processing.

Eastern Europe is an important market for Sapa. Consequently, Alufinal is strategically attractive, located close to markets with strong growth, while also close to major established markets in Central Europe.

"Sapa is making determined efforts to expand in Eastern Europe. The acquisition of Alufinal provides us with a considerable market presence in an area in which we have previously not been active. Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Austria are examples of countries with attractive business potential, including within the transport and construction industries. Slovakia is, for example, the world's largest per-capita car producer," says Arne Rengstedt, Group Vice President responsible for Sapa's profile operations in Eastern Europe. "Overall, the acquisition also reinforces our position as one of Europe's leading suppliers of aluminium profiles," he continues.

The acquisition of Alufinal, which is subject to approval by relevant competition authorities, is expected to be concluded during the autumn.
