Orkla's food, chocolate and biscuits companies in the Nordic region are now to have new names.

Several companies and businesses in the Orkla Foods and Orkla Confectionery & Snacks business areas are being merged in 2013. The business areas are establishing one new company in each of the Nordic countries. In this connection, the merged companies are being given new names.

Orkla's food companies in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland will be named Orkla Foods Norge AS, Orkla Foods Sverige AB, Orkla Foods Danmark A/S and Orkla Foods Finland Oy.

Similarly, the chocolate, biscuits and snacks companies in Norway, Sweden and Finland will be named Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Norge AS, Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Sverige AB and Oy Orkla Confectionery & Snacks Finland Ab.

"Orkla is in the process of becoming a pure-play branded consumer goods company. By making these name changes, we will now strengthen the company name Orkla in the Nordic region," says Orkla President and CEO Åge Korsvold.

The name changes will have no practical significance for consumers, who will find the familiar, traditional branded goods in stores just as before.

"However, it will be more evident that these branded goods are supplied by the Nordic region's leading branded grocery products company, Orkla. This will bring us one step closer to the consumers, who will associate us with safe products, sustainable production and well-known, high-quality local brands," says Korsvold.

The new company names will come into use as soon as practically possible.
