Ortivus will supply the research units of Skejby Hospital in Århus with special PCI monitors developed for use during artery surgery. Skejby Hospital becomes the first hospital in Denmark to install CoroNet, Ortivus’ specialized system for cardiac monitoring and will also serve as a reference site for Ortivus’ solutions for cardiac care. The system was sold through Ortivus’ Danish subsidiary and installation will start in first quarter of 2007.

CoroNet PCI monitor is a part of the CoroNet-system, which is a monitoring system developed to support cardiac care processes. The PCI-application is designed for the demanding conditions in the PCI laboratories. Patient data such as ECG and blood pressure is presented on a screen in front of the surgeon. Since the information is updated every 10 seconds the physician can detect any changes in the patient’s condition immediately and thereby optimize the treatment and patient outcome. “The main reason for choosing Ortivus’ application is that it allows us to perform 12-lead continuous ECG-monitoring with full disclosure and direct wireless storage”, says Christian Juhl Terkelsen, MD. PhD., Skejby Hospital.

CoroNet was launched in Sweden in 2005 and has rapidly reached a market-leading position on its domestic market. The Skejby-order is the first contract in Denmark, a market on which approximately DKK 12 million is spent on cardiac monitoring systems on a yearly basis. “Skejby Hospital is a high-profile hospital and one of the leading Danish hospitals within the cardiology field. We are very pleased that they have selected Ortivus’ PCI-monitors to support their research departments”, says Rain Eriksoo, VP Sales and Marketing at Ortivus.
