Ortivus has signed a distribution agreement with Hospithera, Belgium’s largest independent distributor in medical technology, for Belgium and Luxemburg.

Hospithera, headquartered in Brussels, was founded in 1962 and has a sound knowledge of the Belgian medtech market. Hospithera will be Ortivus’ market channel in the region for CoroNet, Ortivus’ system for wireless cardiac monitoring. The CoroNet system allows the patient to move around, or be moved from the ambulance to the hospital or between departments, while continuously monitored. Hospithera has a long experience with telemetry systems. “We have sold a large number of telemetry systems over the years and know this market very well. Ortivus’ CoroNet system has every chance to be successful here, as it meets our market’s requirements on a flexible telemetry solution”, says Paul Temmerman, Division Manager Critical Care at Hospithera. CoroNet was launched in 2005 and has rapidly gained a significant market share in Sweden. “The world Congress of Cardiology in Barcelona in September will be the starting point for an international launch of CoroNet but we have already seen a lot of interest in the product, not least in the Benelux area. Telemetry systems are relatively common in these countries so Ortivus’ solutions fit well into the healthcare systems on these markets. In addition to this, Hospithera’s experience with telemetry systems is a valuable asset to Ortivus”, says Rain Eriksoo, Vice President Sales and Marketing at Ortivus.
