Ortivus has signed a distribution agreement with Eurotechniques Hellas Medical Equipment. Eurotechniques, founded in 1997 and headquartered in Athens, covers the entire Greek market. The company will be Ortivus’ sales and marketing channel in Greece for the company’s MobiMed range of products within emergency services.

Ortivus’ solutions provide the doctors or paramedics with relevant information about the patient and emergency site. Patient data, such as ECG and other vital parameters, are continuously sent to the receiving hospital in real-time providing an important basis for decision support for doctors and specialists at the hospital end who in turn can guide and direct the ambulance staff to the correct treatment. If distances are great it may be imperative to start treating the patient in the ambulance. Ortivus’ systems aim at supporting the ambulance staff in choosing the appropriate treatment. Furthermore, all data can be stored in an electronic patient record (ePR) and can be transmitted to the patient’s hospital journal. Greece is a market with a modern ambulance fleet and steps are currently being taken towards further improving the prehospital care processes by taking better advantage of IT. “A rapid and efficient pre-hospital process, including both Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) and Automatic Vehicle Location (AVL) as well as the possibility to provide high-quality and correct treatment throughout the ambulance transportation is essential, both from a clinical and administrative perspective. Ortivus’ systems help streamlining this process and we are very excited about bringing this concept to the Greek market”, says Theodore Maraziotis, Managing Director of Eurotechniques. “Greece is an interesting market for Ortivus, one reason being the country’s infrastructure with quite long distances between hospitals. Long ambulance transportations increase the need for communication between hospital and ambulance, as well as for reliant decision support systems for the ambulance personnel. The signing of a distributor for the Greek market is in line with Ortivus’ strategy to expand business in Europe and we are now looking forward to develop business opportunities together with Eurotechniques”, says Rain Eriksoo, Vice President Sales & Marketing at Ortivus.
