Opera Mini powers 02's mobile Web

Oslo, Norway - May 20, 2008 - Opera Software today announced that it has signed an agreement with a leading mobile phone operator, 02 Germany. Under the terms of the agreement, 02 will pre-install a customized version of the mobile browser Opera Mini on selected handsets as well as making it available as a download over the air (OTA). The deal covers Germany.

O2 (Germany) GmbH & co OHG is part of Telefónica O2 Europe. The Telefónica O2 Europe group comprises integrated fixed/mobile businesses in the UK, Ireland, Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia - all of which use 'O2' as their consumer brand. O2 Germany has invested significantly in its 3G network to attract subscribers and drive up margins. 02 Germany has 13.2 million mobile and fixed subscribers.

The agreement between Opera Software and the 02 includes license, development, support & maintenance and server-hosting.
