For five entire days, Sölden was the Heartbeat of the Alps dedicated to the “10 Years of Electric Mountain Anniversary Festival”. International top acts such as John Newman, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike as well as the German rap star Ski Aggu thrilled the audience. The appearance of ski star Lucas Braathen symbolized the alliance between sports and entertainment. The athlete, who will compete for his mother homeland Brazil in the future, prepared for his sporting comeback at the World Cup Opening in Sölden while enjoying also the unrivaled festival atmosphere.

Mountains, beats and boots. The history of the Electric Mountain Festival began with all these ingredients with David Guetta's performance in Sölden. The innovative format has continuously developed over the years. Both in terms of musical direction, festival duration and number of different locations spread across the ski area. At this year's anniversary edition, world stars such as John Newman (“Love me again”), Dimitri Vegas and Like Mike enjoyed the unique alpine atmosphere. The same applied to some 22,000 electronic music lovers who cheered the acts on the turntables. The main festival area on Giggijoch at around 2,300 m with an XXL festival stage was a particular attraction. Germany’s cult rapper Ski Aggu (“Friesenjung” / Frisian Boy) also made his Sölden debut there. Absolutely appropriate in terms of style as ski goggles are one of the indispensable features of the guy from Berlin.

Brazilian ski star with a passion for beats on the mountain
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen also appreciates Sölden's sporty and urban lifestyle. The 23-year-old ski racer prepared for his comeback at the World Cup Opening on 27 October held at Rettenbach Glacier, enjoying excellent slope and snow conditions in the glacier and winter ski areas. He has fond memories of the steep glacier slope, as he won his very first World Cup race here in 2020. For his return under Brazil’s flag, Sölden is providing the ski pop star with comprehensive support in the form of logistical services and suitable training slopes. Sport writes the most exciting and best stories. This is also the case with Lucas Pinheiro Braathen as an absolute popular figure of international ski racing. Sölden is inextricably linked to his career. First his triumph, then the surprising retirement and now the longed-for comeback on Rettenbach Glacier. “We are pleased to support this great bearer of hope for winter sports and to work together in the future. More will only be revealed in autumn at the start of the Ski World Cup season in Sölden,” state Oliver Schwarz, managing director of Ötztal Tourismus, and Jakob Falkner, managing director of Bergbahnen Sölden in unison. Braathen's defined goal: to be the first Brazilian skier to win a World Cup race and to triumph at major events such as the World Championships and the Olympic Games. Braathen underlined once more the fact that he will never want to miss out on the joy of life while his appearance at the Electric Mountain Festival in Sölden also delighted thousands of fans.

Conscious development
On the occasion of the anniversary edition, Oliver Schwarz - managing director of Ötztal Tourismus - draws a quite satisfied conclusion. “Together with Bergbahnen Sölden lift company, we have succeeded in creating and further developing a popular music event format over ten years. The support by fans from near and far confirms our strategy. Thanks to the Electric Mountain Festival also our member accommodations and companies benefit from a boost to overnight stays at the end of the winter season,” says Schwarz.
