CHANGES IN OUTOKUMPU’S BUSINESS REPORTING AND ORGANIZATION

Outokumpu revises the business area/division structure on the
Group. The changes outlined below will take effect immediately
and financial reporting according the new structure will start
with the 2003 first quarter accounts report.

Since the divestment of the Harjavalta nickel plant, Harjavalta
Metals’ main business has been to supply cathode copper to
Copper Products’ Pori works. Therefore, Harjavalta Metals,
earlier part of Metallurgy, will from now on be managed within
the newly named Copper business area and it will report to
Executive Vice President Kalevi Nikkilä in the Group Executive
Committee.

The Metallurgy business area, as such, will cease to exist.
Zinc and Technology will continue to report as stand-alone
divisions to Executive Vice President Tapani Järvinen in the
Group Executive Committee. Outokumpu Research will continue to
report to Tapani Järvinen as a business unit, but will be moved
to Other Operations.

As of the first quarter 2003 accounts report the consolidation
and reporting levels of Outokumpu’s businesses will be as
follows:

– Automotive Heat Exchangers
– Appliance Heat Exchangers & Asia
– Harjavalta Metals
