OLOF FAXANDER LEAVES OUTOKUMPU

Olof Faxander, Executive Vice President – Specialty Stainless and
Member of the Group Executive Committee, will leave Outokumpu on
February 28, 2006 to take up the position of President and CEO of
SSAB of Sweden.

Says Juha Rantanen, CEO of Outokumpu: "I’m sorry to see Olof leave.
I have truly appreciated his contribution in the Executive
Committee. However, I fully understand his decision, as the new job
is a great career opportunity for him. I wish him all the best in
his new position."

The issues relating to Olof Faxander’s succession will be dealt with
in due course.
