1) Regional businesses consists of the Americas, Europe, as well
as Tube and Brass divisions. Global businesses consists of the
Automotive Heat Exchangers as well as Appliance Heat Exchangers &
Asia divisions.

Outokumpu’s stainless steel product mix improved in 2004 compared
with the previous year. Deliveries of finished stainless steel
products (i.e. cold rolled and white hot strip products) increased
by 12%, and the relative share of semi-finished products (i.e.
slabs and black hot rolled coils included in the group Other)
decreased from the high level in 2003. The improvement of the
product mix relates primarily to the utilization of new capacity
in Tornio, where the relative share of finished products is
increasing as the ramp-up progresses.

Total stainless steel deliveries in 2004 grew only modestly.
However, during October-December 2004 total delivery volume was
record-high at 490 000 tonnes, boosted by high deliveries of white
hot strip especially to Asia.

The 34% increase in total deliveries of fabricated copper products
in 2004 was mainly due to the acquisition of the fabrication
business from Boliden at the end of 2003. The acquisition has
increased deliveries of the Regional businesses division.

The order backlog of Outokumpu Technology increased due to
improved investment activity of the mining and metals industry.

As previously announced, Outokumpu’s full-year 2004 financial
results will be published on Thursday, February 10, 2005.
