Outokumpu Technology has received alumina and aluminium projects worth more than EUR 55 million

Outokumpu Technology has concluded since June the following technology sales agreements worth more than EUR 55 million:

• ALUNORTE - Alumina do Norte do Brasil S/A for the supply of equipment, basic and detailed engineering, erection and commissioning for two turn-key calcination units with a capacity of 3 300 tpd (tons per day) alumina each. After installation of these units at the end of 2005, the Alunorte refinery will produce more than 14 000 tpd alumina.

• BALCO - Bharat Aluminium Company Ltd., a Sterlite Group company in India, for the supply of key process equipment and process and conceptual engineering, as well as supervision of erection and commissioning for a new Green Anode Plant. This plant is part of Balco's project to build a new 345 000 tpa (tons per annum) pre-baked anode primary aluminium smelter at Korba, Chattisgarh, India. The plant is to be completed within 24 months. Outokumpu Technology will also supply the key rod shop process equipment to the BALCO plant.

• Henan Shenhuo Group Corp., China, for the design and supply of a turntable anode vibro-compactor for its new Green Anode Plant. The equipment will be supplied within ten months. This facility is part of a 140 000 tpa greenfield primary aluminium smelter being built at Yongcheng city in Henan Province.

• ALRO S.A. - Slatina, Romania, for the supply of equipment, process and conceptual engineering as well as supervision of erection and commissioning for the partly modernization of the existing Green Anode Plant.

• In addition, Outokumpu Technology will deliver engineering and special equipment for Alcoa - Alumar in Brazil and ALBA - Aluminium Bahrain.
