THE FINNISH SOCIAL INSTITUTION’S HOLDING OF OUTOKUMPU’S SHARE
CAPITAL IS BELOW 10%

Outokumpu Oyj has been informed that the holding of the Finnish
Social Insurance Institution has decreased below 10 percent of the
paid up share capital of the company on May 8, 2006.


With reference to Section 2, paragraph 10 of the Finnish Market
Securities Act and the relevant decision of the Finnish Ministry
of Finance, Outokumpu Oyj is reporting that the Finnish Social
Insurance Institution holds 18 003 948 Outokumpu Oyj shares on May
8, 2006 corresponding to 9.93% of the company’s share capital and
voting rights.
