A collaboration agreement has been signed by Austri Vind and OX2 for the development and construction of 250 MW of onshore wind power in Norway. The companies have agreed to realise three wind power projects over the next few years.

Austri Vind has successfully developed wind power projects in the Municipalities of Engerdal, Trysil, Åmot and Våler in the County of Hedmark, Norway. OX2 has built and financed around 30 wind power projects with a total nameplate capacity of 800 MW in the Nordic region. Together, the companies are ideally placed to deliver top-quality projects to the market quickly.

”There is a great deal of interest in investing in major wind power projects in Norway, but many projects have weaknesses, such as complex grid connections. The projects we are now working on in partnership with Austri benefits from unusually good wind and grid conditions, and we are hoping to start the construction of 100 MW this year”, says Paul Stormoen, CEO of OX2 Wind.

Like OX2, Austri Vind prioritises open communication, collaboration with local stakeholders and local benefit. Shared values like these are essential to the partnership. Austri Vind will continue to be responsible for contacts with the permitting authorities and local stakeholders, including municipalities, local residents and landowners. OX2 will be responsible for the technical aspects and financing of the project, and will also be the turnkey construction contractor.

“For Austri, it was important to find a partner who worked in accordance with the central goals set by our shareholders for their wind power ownership. With OX2 as a partner, we have gained access to solid experience and a strong track record, which we believe will ensure the quality and feasibility of constructing the projects”, says Ola Børke, CEO of Austri Vind.

The projects covered by the partnership are Raskiftet in the Municipalities of Trysil and Åmot, Kvitvola in the Municipality of Engerdal and Kjølberget in the Municipality of Våler. The Norwegian Water and Energy Directorate (NVE) has issued permits for all the projects, and a final ruling by the Oil and Energy Department is expected during 2015.
