SARLIN GROUP SELLING PUMP DIVISION TO GRUNDFOS The Grundfos pump manufacturing Group, based in Denmark with 55 subsidiaries in 38 countries and 9 production sites in 8 countries, today signed the contract of purchasing the entire business activities of Sarlin Pumps, the pump division of Finnish Sarlin Group. The Grundfos Group will reaffirm its strategic objective of becoming a leading player within the waste-water pump business. The Sarlin Group will, in the future, focus on the business areas of Beamex, Sarlin Furnaces, Sarlin-Hydor, and Sarlin Automation. A leading player in the waste-water pump business, Sarlin Pumps of Finland are represented by subsidiaries in the UK, Poland, Spain and Estonia. In addition the company has a network of distributors in more than 40 countries worldwide. The Sarlin product portfolio is complementary to Grundfos' product program and so the purchase will secure Grundfos access to new strategic markets in the waste-water sector. The staff of Sarlin Pumps will continue as employees for their company's new owner. The agreement still needs the approval of the Finnish Office of Free Competition.
