LUND, SWEDEN – Paindrainer AB is proud to announce that the company now has successfully achieved SOC 2 Type 1 attestation for its medical device, PD Care System. This milestone underscores Paindrainer’s commitment to protecting partner and patient data by meeting the highest standards of data security in digital health.

The SOC2 attestation is a voluntary yet highly important compliance review set forth by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), which include data security, availability, confidentiality, processing integrity and privacy. The audit, focusing on data security, was performed by an independent third-party auditor who confirmed that the PD Care Systems reached all necessary criteria and upheld the highest degree of standards.

“The framework for SOC2 is very important for Paindrainer given our dedicated focus on digital medical devices. This attestation shows that we have a relentless focus on cloud security and always aim to have products with the highest standards. This will open up collaborations with major hospitals, since such health care providers can feel safe in that we will never compromise on patient confidentiality” says Erik Frick, CEO Paindrainer AB.

Paindrainer will now continue and monitor performance on all relevant controls for the second part of SOC2, being the type 2 attestation. This will be finalized within 3 months.

About Paindrainer AB
Paindrainer AB is a company developing digital platforms and applications contributing to health and well-being. Paindrainer was founded in 2018 by Prof. Carl Borrebaeck, Dr. Maria Klement (chronic pain patient herself), and Göran Barkfors (IT specialist). The idea was born when Maria, after participating in several pain rehabilitation programs, realized that the pain is affected by more factors than the human brain can keep track of, since all days are different. PD Care System which is completely patient-centric uses advanced calculations based on artificial intelligence to, based on each user’s own data, coach the user in planning their day not to exceed a certain pain level, and to ensure that there is energy left for activities highly valued.

Paindrainer® has clinical evidence, is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), self-management and artificial intelligence (AI). It is CE certified and an FDA Mobile Medical Device Class I with exemption. www.paindrainer.com
