Mumpreneur Anna-Lee Kewley, who started her business BabyMoo's has scooped another prestigious award this year in the Dorset NatWest Venus Awards.

Following the launch of her successful brand of bright, boutique baby clothes, Anna-Lee Kewley has not had time to stop yet. Famed and revered for starting her business with just £230, back when she was pregnant with her first child, Anna has seen BabyMoo's rise rapidly. Reiterating that good things come to those who work really hard, Anna has recently celebrated being awarded the New Media and Online Business award  in the Dorset Venus Awards.

Fifteen prizes were handed out in total to women who have been inspirational in their achievements, in the most prestigious ceremony to date. Self taught Anna has seen Baby Moo's grow alongside her biggest achievement: her two children. She said, "winning this award alongside raising my family is an indescribable feeling! Initially I just wanted to import cool clothes at affordable prices, and never envisaged becoming an actual brand. To be recognised as an inspiration to other women is really the highest accolade I could imagine."

Sponsored by NatWest, the Bournemouth Echo and Volkswagen Breeze; the awards enter their 5th year of celebrating female business women across the country. Organised by Bournemouth's Tara Howard whose mission is to promote women's success in business as an even greater achievement to be acknowledged, since they are often juggling families and work. Started in Bournemouth in 2009, expanding the awards on a national level became a natural progression. Dubbed “The Working Women’s Oscars”, the awards ceremony featured live entertainment and a 3 course meal.

Having noticed a gap in the market for affordable and funky baby clothes, Anna-Lee launched the first website in 2010; stocking imported baby wear. From 2012, the Baby Moo’s website boasted Anna's own creations and sales really took off. With humorous bibs displaying messages such as "These fools put my cape on backwards", Anna's garments inject some personality into baby wear and are available in bright and varied colours. "I was tired of seeing all of the bland pinks and blues", said Anna of her motivation to start Baby Moo's.

Trading from her house in Queen's Park, Anna has foregone her love of live music to focus on the business and her family. "I love what I do, which is lucky really, as it takes up all my time!" said Anna. Her message to other women in business is to find something they love doing and persevere and she believes they won't feel as though they are working.
