Panattoni has commenced construction of 68,000 sqm of warehouse space with an ideal logistics placement in Mälardalen. The property is expected to be ready to move into during the fall of 2023 and could, with the right tenant, create up to 400 new jobs in Enköping.

Panattoni is one of the world’s largest logistics and industrial real estate developers and entered the Swedish market towards the end of 2021 with a historically large land acquisition from Kilenkrysset. From that moment, the ambition has been to be the market leader in terms of developed square meters. Today, Panattoni went from words to action when celebrating the first shovel in the ground for a modern warehouse, totalling 68,000 sqm, in Enköping.

”It is a great joy, and it feels like a fantastic achievement that we, already after ten months, can start building our first Swedish project. This clearly proves that we are a multinational partner with a local organization that can rapidly meet a vast demand for sustainable warehouses and light industrial properties. And as is the case here, ideally placed to ensure excellent logistics too,” said Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, Managing Director Panattoni Sweden, to the crowd of 70 who witnessed the project’s initiation.

In attendance and speaking during the event, we also found Jan Persson, CEO, and owner of Kilenkrysset; and Peter Book, Chairman of Enköping Municipal Board.

”We are delighted that Panattoni have chosen to invest here in Enköping. Their establishment confirms our strategic logistics position in Sweden,” said Peter Book.

YLAB, the construction company contracted at a sum of 1.3 billion SEK, also participated, and revealed that the warehouse property should be ready to move into towards the end of 2023. Panattoni is currently marketing the spaces to Swedish and international tenants and assesses that the project might create up to 400 new jobs in Enköping.

In addition to the project in Enköping, Panattoni has already launched five other projects, two of them in Strängnäs and Rosersberg. Simultaneously, the company seeks additional attractive land for further investment.
