It has been two years since Panattoni, one of the world’s largest developers of industrial and logistics properties, established itself in Sweden. The company has been working at a high pace since day one, and in 2023, it achieved several milestones.

Over the past two years, the industry has faced significant challenges due to ongoing world conflicts and rising interest rates, leading to a constantly changing landscape. Panattoni has had a successful year despite these difficulties, producing 172,000 square meters in strategic locations across Sweden, contributing to a strong year.

“We're thrilled about what we've achieved in just two years! We've gone above and beyond our expectations. Even though we've had a lot going on in such a short time, we feel that we've created a solid base with an amazing team,” says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, Managing Director of Panattoni Sweden.

A year filled with milestones

Panattoni is one of the largest developers of logistics properties globally. They have set a target to become the leading market player in the Nordics by building 200,000 square meters of warehouse and logistics space every year. The following are some important highlights of Panattoni’s progress in the past year.

• The first building completed in Enköping

Panattoni developed a modern and flexible property spanning 68,000 square meters with low operating costs in less than a year. The property is sustainability certified to meet BREEAM Excellent standards and was completed in October.

• First ground was broken in Strängnäs, Rosersberg, and Åstorp.

It concerns 172,000 square meters of warehouse and logistics properties within the golden triangle of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö, which will be completed before September 2024.

• Entry into Denmark with a new team

In 2023, Panattoni established a competent team in Denmark, working hard on multiple projects.

• Acquisition of property in Landvetter and Åstorp

Panattoni has commenced its first projects in Gothenburg and Skåne, resulting in a logistics building in each location, expanding its presence in southwestern Sweden.

• Three new members added to the Swedish team

Christoffer Danielsson as Capital Markets Director Nordics, Frida Nilsson as Marketing Coordinator, and Amanda Norin as Business Controller.

Expectations for the coming year

Panattoni has a bright future, as it has observed an apparent increase in interest from potential tenants in the second half of 2023. This indicates a pent-up demand that the company is prepared to meet. Panattoni will relocate to new, larger premises in April as it has outgrown its current location.

”I am optimistic about the future,” says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell. ”We will soon have five modern and efficient properties to create tenant value. Additionally, we are always keeping an eye out for new projects.”
