In June, Panattoni, Europe’s largest developer of logistics and industrial properties, completed its first land acquisition in southern Sweden. The property, covering 77,000 square meters is located in Åstorp just outside Helsingborg. Yesterday, Panattoni held a groundbreaking event for a modern industrial and logistics facility set to be completed by September 2024.

Since entering the Swedish market, Panattoni has set ambitious goals to become a market leader in terms of developed square meters. The company is currently undertaking several construction projects in the Mälardalen region and Gothenburg.

In June, the first land acquisition of 77,000 square meters was made in Skåne, and yesterday, the shovel hit the ground for the project. The local construction company MVB Syd will build a modern facility spanning 46,000 square meters with excellent accessibility to E4 and E6 highways. The event was attended by around 60 people, there among some potential tenants, who had gathered to celebrate.

– It’s gratifying to see that Panattoni is expanding into southern Sweden, where there is high demand for industrial and logistical properties. The location’s proximity to Copenhagen and the rest of Europe is very attractive and soon we will have a highly advantageous offering of properties within the golden triangle of Stockholm, Skåne and Gothenburg, said Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, Managing Director of Panattoni Sweden.

At the event, Rudolf Tornerhjelm from Södervidden, from whom Panattoni acquired the land, was present alongside Thomas Elqvist from MVB Syd and Peter Lindberg, Chairman of the Municipal Council of Åstorp.

– It is positive news that Panattoni's presence in Åstorp will contribute to the development of business and create job opportunities during construction and after the facility is complete. Åstorp offers an available workforce, many housing options, and convenient commuting alternatives. We simply have everything required, said Peter Lindberg, Chairman of the Municipal of Åstorp.

Future tenants can choose from new, flexible, and sustainable spaces ranging from approximately 5,000 to 46,000 square meters (BTA). The property is highly visible from E4 and will receive a BREEAM Excellent certification. It will be ready for occupancy by September 2024.
