Panattoni has broken ground for a logistics hub in Strängnäs
Just a few months after Panattoni's very first sod in Sweden, today the shovel was once again put in the ground. This time for the next 300 000 sqm of warehouse space in Strängnäs. The goal is to create a large logistics hub and strengthen Strängnäs' business community with projects that create hundreds of jobs.
Panattoni is one of the world's largest developers of logistics and industrial properties. In June 2022, a historically large land acquisition of Kilenkrysset was carried out and today the groundbreaking ceremony took place in Strängnäs in front of about 80 specially invited guests. Present were Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden, Jan Persson, CEO, owner and chairman of the board, Kilenkrysset, and Jacob Högfeldt, Chairman of the Municipality of Strängnäs Municipality.
"Strängnäs has a very interesting logistics location, right where the E20 and 55 meet. It is close to Sweden's largest consumption market in Stockholm and at the same time with the opportunity to reach out to the whole country and by extension the whole of Scandinavia.
Both the business community and politics in Strängnäs are permeated by a positive spirit and a good climate, which is very good when we together succeed in creating this logistics hub", says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, CEO of Panattoni Sweden.
Jacob Högfeldt, chairman of the municipal government, also agreed:
"We are excited to see what Panattoni's establishment in Strängnäs will contribute to our future development and how it will further strengthen Strängnäs municipality's growth journey. We have historically had strong population growth and are now looking forward to the same growth journey on the business side. Together we create the future place to live, live and work," said Jacob Högfeldt.
In line with Panattoni's business model, Strängnäs is starting to build on speculation, i.e. that you do not have to wait for any intended tenant before the shovel is put in the ground. In this way, you can add modern properties at a high pace to the market but which can also be adapted to the tenant's needs. Estimated occupancy is during the first quarter of 2024.
Jan Persson, CEO, owner and chairman of the board, Kilenkrysset:
"Panattoni's future logistics hub in Strängnäs will, with its strategic location, be beneficial for the entire Swedish business community and attract many exciting establishments to the country."
