Global real estate developer Panattoni entered the Swedish market at the end of 2021 with an historically large land acquisition of approximately SEK 3.1 billion. The development of 150,000 square meters of modern speculative warehouse space is now starting in Strängnäs, Rosersberg and Enköping, where planning permission has also been granted.

Panattoni, Europe's largest developer of logistics and industrial properties, started operations in Sweden at the end of 2021 and in June this year completed the largest land deal ever conducted within Sweden’s logistics industry. As early as this autumn, work will commence to build five modern warehouse buildings on properties in Enköping, Strängnäs and Rosersberg. Construction company YLAB is contracted as general contractor for approximately SEK 1.3 billion and the facilities are expected to be ready for occupancy around the turn of the year 2023-2024. In Enköping, the environmental and building committee has granted a building permit for the first building, which may result in three to four hundred new jobs.

"To build on speculation is nothing new or unique, but to simultaneously develop 150,000 square meters of warehouse space on speculation is unusual. Today there is a huge demand for modern, adaptable, and sustainable facilities and we know that with this project, we will be able to meet this demand. The locations of the properties in Mälardalen are logistically excellent, with proximity to both consumers and solid infrastructure," says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, Managing Director of Panattoni Sweden.

Panattoni is one of the world's largest players and the market leader in Europe in the development of logistics properties, with well-known international customers such as Amazon, H&M and DHL. Since entering the Swedish market last year, in addition to the head office in Gothenburg, Panattoni has opened additional offices in strategic locations and very quickly succeeded in building an organization consisting of experienced people with a solid background.
