The roof is completed on Panattoni's first logistic property in southern Sweden
Panattoni is one of Europe's major developers of modern logistics properties and last year the company made its first land acquisition in southern Sweden. The property totals 46,000 square meters and is located in Åstorp, just outside the city of Helsingborg. Last thursday, the success of the project was celebrated with a topping-out ceremony attended by partners and potential tenants.
Panattoni currently has several ongoing projects totaling 172,000 square meters across Sweden, primarily in Mälardalen and Gothenburg. The completion of the first property in southern Sweden is now approaching.
“Panattoni's main focus on the Swedish market is to create a wide range of industrial and logistics properties in attractive locations within the golden triangle of Stockholm, Gothenburg, and Malmö. Starting in September, we will be able to offer a state-of-the-art facility in southern Sweden that connects the triangle and provides accessibility to Denmark and the rest of Europe” says Fredrik Jagersjö Rosell, Managing Director of Panattoni Sweden.
The topping-out ceremony was attended by 80 people, who gathered to celebrate the successful project. Andreas Gibrand, Head of Construction at Panattoni and project manager, was present and had this to say:
“We are proud of the Åstorp project, which is another example of how efficient we can be in our construction process when building speculatively. The result is a modern and flexible building that can quickly be adapted to a variety of needs. We have focused on sustainability and technology throughout the project. We are very satisfied with the result so far, and we have MVB Syd and their subcontractors to thank for that. Despite strong winds and heavy rainfall since the start of the frame assembly, they have managed to maintain an incredibly high pace. In just ten weeks, they managed to assemble the entire structure, including walls and roof” said Andreas Gibrand.
Peter Lindberg, chairman of Åstorp Municipality, and Rudolf Tornerhjelm from Södervidden Fastigheter, the company from which Panattoni made the land acquisition, were also there to celebrate.
“With the roof in place for Panattoni Park, Åstorp has another building that creates opportunities for business in the region to grow and become more competitive. My and Södervidden's belief have always been that Åstorp's geographical location is unique. The demand for modern and sustainable premises will increase as more businesses move production and storage back to Sweden. We are extra happy about the opportunity to move ten oaks from Söderåsen to the property, which will soften the visual expression and increase biodiversity” said Rudolf Tornerhjelm, owner and chairman of the board at Södervidden Fastigheter.
“It's fantastic how quickly Panattoni, together with the construction company MVB Syd, has progressed this far with the project. Now, we are looking forward to the inauguration in September, which increases the availability of jobs in the region" said Peter Lindberg, who is the chairman of the municipal council in Åstorp.
Panattoni Park in Åstorp, covering 46,000 square meters, will be ready for occupancy in September 2024 and can be divided into multiple spaces starting at approximately 4,500 square meters. The property has optimal visibility along the E4 and will be certified according to BREEAM Excellent. The building's sustainable aspects include a roof prepared for solar panel installation and electric car charging stations that can be adapted to the tenant's needs.
