ParcelHero reveals the strangest items sent last month

The things we all send by parcel post are often fascinating. London based international courier ParcelHero is frequently asked to deliver some interesting and unusual items around the world.

Here are ParcelHero’s Top 10 most unusual items sent in September:

  1. Hawk baths. Falconers say that their Harris Hawks, Goss Hawks, etc, enjoy a good scrub every now and again – but would you want to get close enough to soap them?

  2. Chilled canine semen. ParcelHero didn’t like to enquire too closely, but assumes this is a pedigree dog breeding thing.

  3. LP records. Who said the vinyl was dead? In September ParcelHero sent LPs and singles to France, Australia, Canada, the US, Belgium and Germany.

  4. A collection of Victorian sheet music. Ideal for a Knees Up Mother Brown.

  5. Antique milk bottles to Australia. Presumably the cream of the collection

  6. 3D printer parts. A new dimension in parcels for the company, this month it sent 3D printer parts to Germany, Israel, Sweden, the Czech Republic and Denmark. Presumably in years to come, such parts will be delivered by 3D machines themselves!

  7. Enough musical instruments to form an orchestra. From electric guitars and keyboards to cymbals, pipe organs, violins and two hurdy-gurdies!

  8. Beekeeping equipment. Happily for ParcelHero’s partners, without the bees themselves.

  9. A Darth Vader mask to Sweden. The ParcelForce was not strong with this one.

  10. Used mobile phones to China. Surely the modern equivalent of delivering coals to Newcastle?

ParcelHero’s David Jinks says: ‘September was another interesting month for ParcelHero, we delivered everything from oak beams to a precious 18th century Chinese tureen and a collection of rare World War I costumes. It is always fascinating to see what our customers are sending around the world.’
