Marketplace experts ParcelHero says don't throw out your old vinyls

Dear colleague,

You may be aware that Saturday 18 is Record Store Day. International courier ParcelHero ships records for vinyl sellers of every size:  and to mark Record Store Day has created this intriguing infographic on the history of vinyl, and other music media from gramophones to Spotify. It’s attached as a jpeg, and you can inbed a hi res versions on your site by following the instructions below. Also below is ParcelHero’s Top Three most valuable vinyls.

Infographic caption:

What goes around comes around: The first gramophone records were released in 1889, and in 2015 vinyl records are staging a comeback. Old LPs and singles can be worth thousands, but vinyl still has a future as the traditional LP and single charts are making a return this week.

ParcelHero’s Top 3 collectable vinyls:

1

The most valuable vinyls are the, rare as hen’s teeth, 45in singles by The Quarrymen (who became the Beatles) That’ll Be The Day original release. The first (one-off pressing) is worth around £100,000 and the initial short release of around 25 around £10,000.

2

Next comes a rare version of The Sex Pistols God Save The Queen single on the A&M label. The Sex Pistols signed with Virgin just before this was issued but some did find their way out to the public! Value £8,000.

3

Third is the original Beatles LP ‘The White Album’. First release (all depends on serial number!) entirely unscratched with mint sleeve is worth around £7,000.

Remember if you are selling vinyls to ensure they are correctly packaged, as they can be easily damaged. For more information see www.parcelhero.com/blog/general/how2-pack-vinyl
