Spitalfields, London, UK – From Friday 29th April though to Monday 2nd May, Old Spitalfields Market, near Liverpool Street Station, is hosting a weekend of free special events. On Friday 29th April and to mark the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton, Old Spitalfields Market is laying-on large-screen televisions to allow shoppers to enjoy the ceremony whilst browsing the shops and stalls in the market hall. Revellers will be able to enjoy refreshments at a special pop-up bar that is being laid on for the day’s festivities. Football fans will also be able to celebrate the staging of the UEFA Champions League final at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 28 May, as the trophies for both this final and the UEFA Women's Champions League final will be going on display in the market hall. Free to visit, the trophies will be on display on the 29th and 30th of April. On Saturday 30th April the celebrations continue as Old Spitalfields Market will be hosting a special family market, plus a pop-up bar stocked with a range of drinks that will keep even the most serious of shoppers refreshed and ready to browse the market stalls and marvel at the UEFA Champions League trophy. Sunday 1st May will see the normal bustling Sunday market packed with its usual eclectic array of stalls. On Bank Holiday Monday (2nd of May), the East End Film Festival's unforgettable interactive musical experience CYCLE SYMPHONY will be at Old Spitalfields Market. This sensory journey combines a pedal-powered film by local artist Mila Lipowicz and a specially commissioned live orchestra and choral soundtrack composed and conducted by Amelia Robinson.
