Spitalfields, London, UK – On Thursday 27th May 2010, London’s historic Old Spitalfields Market is playing host to a free antiques valuation day. The valuation event, which is open to the general public, will commence at 11am and take place alongside the regular antiques and collectors market that is held at the site every Thursday. Michael Collins, the event’s organiser said: “We will have three, expert valuers on hand and they are unrivalled in their field of expertise.” “They will offer free, unbiased assessments of treasured possessions, be they Rembrandts or remnants, Monets or no moneys! “Who knows what we may come across during the event? I’ve never ceased to be amazed by some of the items that people have in their possession, quite often they are completely unaware of how rare and valuable some items can be.” The three experts, who have a wide-ranging knowledge, are: Tim Hogarth, who many people will know from David Dickinson’s ‘Real Deal’ television show; Tony Johns and Nicki Rodgers. Andrew Sparrow, of Old Spitalfields Market, added: “The Thursday antiques market has gained a reputation of being one of London’s premier antiques events and attracts an ever-growing number of shoppers and collectors.” “We are hoping that this free valuation day will help some of our customers find a priceless heirloom - something that could really change their lives!” Old Spitalfields Market is a short walk from Liverpool Street Station and Aldgate East Tube – please visit www.oldspitalfieldsmarket.com for further information.
