‘Hug a Ginger’ Celebration in Morley Market

Morley, West Yorkshire, UK – 9th April 2010 – On Saturday 10th April 2010, Morley Indoor Market, near Leeds, is playing host to a day’s celebration of all things ginger. David Wilson, market Manager with Town and Country Markets Ltd, said: “We have decided that we will have a Ginger day, what you could call ‘hug a ginger day’ if you like.” ”They are quite often the butt of people’s jokes and we want to offer them our support. ”We will have ginger biscuits, ginger cakes, ginger cheese, ginger beer tasting and free ginger bread men for children. “The children will also be entertained with free face painting and balloon modelling and as a mark of solidarity for the red-headed minority, I shall be wearing a huge ginger afro wig.” The event takes place inside the market hall, starting at 9am and continues right up until the market closes at 5pm.
