Spitalfields, London, UK – 30th March 2010 – On Wednesday 31st March, 2010, Old Spitalfields Market will play host to BBC London 94.9 and its special pre-election breakfast with Masterchef star John Torode and the show’s presenters Paul Ross and Gaby Roslin. Taking place between 8.30am and 10am, members of the public are invited to come along and taste a sample of the breakfasts that have been cooked by one of The Luxe’s top chefs for three political guests. Each of the three breakfasts on offer have been nominated by local MPs as their favourite. The MPs are: Dawn Butler MP, Labour (Brent South), Justine Greening MP, Conservative (Putney, Roehampton & Southfields) and Simon Hughes MP, Liberal Democrats (North Southwark and Bermondsey). Afterwards, members of the public will be able to vote for the MP’s breakfast that they most prefer – with John Torode on hand to give his expert opinion on each of the breakfasts on offer. The BBC London 94.9 team will then question whether people can read political preferences from the different breakfasts suggested by the MPs. If they choose a continental breakfast does that mean they favour greater integration with our European neighbours? Would an environmentally-conscious MP pick a breakfast with locally-sourced ingredients? Come and join Paul, Gaby, John Torode and the MPs for the BBC London 94.9 'Power Breakfast' on Wednesday, 31 March between 08.30am and 10am at The Luxe, Old Spitalfields Market, 109 Commercial St., London, E1 6BG.
