John and Jamie Stone, founders of DiscoverWell, the nonprofit entity that produces the Vail Living Well Summit along with the Sonnenalp Hotel, are offering 20 scholarships to this September’s Vail Living Well Summit (VLWS). The scholarships include access to all sessions at VLWS, lodging and meals for the recipients during the Summit, which will be held September 19-21, 2013 in Vail, Colo.

“As part of our participation in the Clinton Health Matters conference earlier this year we were asked to make a pledge to further health & well-being,” says Jamie Stone, president of DiscoverWell. “Our pledge is to offer 20 scholarships to future and current leaders in the field of health and well-being who may not otherwise be able to attend the Summit and who will benefit from the information shared and relationships forged. We ask that scholarship recipients outline in their application how they will ‘pay it forward’ and use what they learn at the Summit to activate health & well-being within their spheres of influence.”

Anyone interested in a VLWS scholarship may visit www.vaillivingwell.org to review application information and to download an application form. Applicants are asked to disclose the area of health & well-being their involvement will influence, their approach to “paying it forward” and to highlight and specifically describe the course of action and tools for measuring success in their pledge.

“Scholarships will be granted to recipients who will most influence others and continue the positive ripple effect in health & well-being,” adds Jamie Stone. “The scholarship program allows us to extend the reach of the Summit by connecting and engaging future thought leaders. We have already received some outstanding applications and look forward to receiving more from students, researchers and anyone else working in the field of health & well-being who wants to make a difference.”

The deadline for application submittal is June 30, 2013, though interested parties are encouraged to apply earlier. Applicants will receive notification of the status of their application within four weeks of submittal.
