The new standard opens precast connections market in China.

Peikko Group’s local entity in China was invited to become a member of the editorial board of the Technical Specification for Precast Multi-story Structures committee. The committee is considered to be the primary authority qualifying the bolted connection technology applied in frame structures. The committee is chaired by The Chinese Academy of Building Research. Peikko’s key representatives on the board are Bin Zhu, Senior Project Engineer and Huafei Shi, National Sales Manager.

The Technical Specification for Precast Multi-story Structures committee has worked on an ambitious project for creating standards for the bolted connection technology in China. The project was launched in April 2017, and the new standards were issued and put into practice nation-wide in July 2019. The project has been approved by the China Association for Engineering Construction Standardization (CECS).

“We are very happy that Peikko was invited to join this industry standardization process. The new standard includes several remarkable reforms, especially in the fields of technology standards for semi-rigid frame structures, bolted connections frames, and bolted connection shear walls. The launch of this standard is of great importance for the precast industry in China and it opens significant new market opportunities for Peikko in China”, comments Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
