QUICK-STEP LAUNCHES NEW RECLAIME´ COLLECTION NATIONWIDE
FEATURES CHARM OF RECLAIMED HARDWOOD FLOOR
Dallas, April 27, 2012 – Old barn wood colors, skip-sawn textures and time-worn surfaces comprise the vintage reclaimed wood look of the new Reclaimé Collection now available from Quick-Step.
“The Reclaimé Collection is on pace with the latest design styles and trends in the home decorating market,” said Erinn Valencich, L.A.-based designer and blogger for HGTV’s Design Happens. “Three of the biggest trends in hardwood flooring right now are time-worn visuals, strong character looks and wide, long planks. The new Reclaimé Collection satisfies all of these design preferences, offering the visuals and personality of an expensive reclaimed hardwood floor, at a price that fits within your decorating budget.”
Knock on old wood
Reclaimed hardwood floors are extremely popular, adding an attractive level of style and artistry to a room. The roadblock most consumers run into is that reclaimed wood is scarce, so reclaimed hardwood prices are high. An exciting solution is Quick-Step’s new Reclaimé high quality laminate planks that provide consumers with the rich visual of reclaimed wood at an attractive price.
“The Reclaimé Collection’s level of realism, sophisticated design, and texture makes it difficult for a consumer to tell the difference between Reclaimé planks and real reclaimed wood,” said Roger Farabee, senior vice president of marketing for Quick-Step. “Homeowners, including those who have never considered laminate, will see this new product as an economical yet fashionable way to bring the visual and charm of a reclaimed hardwood floor into their homes.”
Turn back time
Two Reclaimé colors offer rustic Oak visuals reminiscent of barn wood gracefully weathered by time and the elements. The shade variation throughout the planks lends further authenticity to these reclaimed wood designs. The surface structure of the décors’ registered embossing, combined with Quick-Step’s five-color printing, sophisticated styling, and detailed designs, achieves a heightened level of realism in these two romantic, reclaimed visuals.
The new collection also includes three additional Oak designs that feature an antique “skip-sawn” textured surface, reminiscent of wood originally cut during a bygone era. The kerf marks on these Reclaimé planks accurately mirror the saw marks created by the starts and stops of a cutting blade — nostalgic hallmarks of a time when planks were cut by the rhythmic pull and push of a hand-held two-man saw before modern mills.
The collection’s 1/2” (12mm) thick single planks create a substantial feel and sound in the room, while the 7-1/2” generously wide by 54” extra long planks offer expansive style for the home. Micro-bevels frame all four sides of each Reclaimé matte-finished plank. Made in the USA, the collection also features Uniclic, the most widely-used glueless installation locking system in the industry.
Faux without the fuss
In addition to laminate flooring being a more economical choice, Quick-Step offers the following benefits of choosing Reclaimé laminate planks over hardwood:
- Less work – Easy to clean and easy to maintain. Periodic sweeping with a dry dust mop is generally all that is needed to keep Reclaimé floors looking like new.
- Durable – Unlike the dings, scratches and marks that everyday life leaves on hardwood, Reclaimé is an extremely durable, stylish alternative.
- Quick and easy installation – With its patented glueless installation locking system, Uniclic, Quick-Step offers a simple and user-friendly way to install a Reclaimé floor.
- Replicates the look of real wood – With features such as longer and wider planks, and pain-staking attention to color detail and shading, Quick-Step’s Reclaimé laminate planks accurately mimic real wood down to the smallest detail.
