Port Equipment Manufacturers Association builds membership further with several new members
The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) is expanding further with the addition of global electronics and engineering group Siemens, German industrial braking specialist Pintsch Bubenzer, US OCR systems provider APS Technology Group, Greece’s Craneports and Bureau Veritas as its newest members.
“Our new members are at the forefront of technological development and we anticipate that they will make valuable contributions to our ongoing efforts to improve safety and sustainability across the port equipment sector,” says PEMA President, Ottonel Popesco.
PEMA provides a forum and public voice for the global port equipment and technology sectors, reflecting their critical role in enabling safe, secure, sustainable and productive ports and thereby supporting world maritime trade.
Siemens is a global electronics and engineering group active in healthcare, energy and industry and infrastructure. In the port sector, Siemens is a leader in the development and implementation of automation, drives and advanced control systems for cranes and handling equipment.
Serving both the marine and intermodal industries, APS Technology provides optical character recognition (OCR) and process automation systems for the ports and terminal industries. Its systems are used at terminal gates, quays and yards to automatically identify containers and handling equipment.
Pintsch Bubenzer specialises in the design, production and service of high quality braking systems for both static and mobile applications in a broad range of sectors. Greece-based Craneports provides crane operating systems to the ports sector.
Founded in 1828 and present in 140 countries, Bureau Veritas is an international group specialising in the audit, inspection, analysis, and certification of products, infrastructure and management systems. In the port sector, the company provides third party inspection services to help operators reduce equipment downtime and maintenance costs and optimise asset lifecycle management.
