Port Equipment Manufacturers Association welcomes World Crane Services and Seoho Electric as newest members
The Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) has expanded its membership to 47 with the addition of crane inspection and refurbishment specialist, World Crane Services, and converter, drive and control systems manufacturer, Seoho Electric.
“On behalf of PEMA, I warmly welcome Seoho Electric and World Crane Services to the Association. We look forward to working together on a range of activities as we seek to improve safety, sustainability and technological innovation in the ports sector,” says PEMA President Ottonel Popesco.
Seoho Electric develops software and automation control systems for harbour cranes and a wide variety of general industry applications. The company also manufactures and AC and DC drives for converters for fans, motors, pumps, harbour cranes and other machinery.
World Crane Services provides comprehensive third party inspections; including procurement, design reviews, commissioning and handover services; audits and statutory crane inspections and accident damage recovery. The group also carries out crane refurbishments, and supplies components for port cranes, as well as container safety cages and terminal trailers.
Founded in 2004, PEMA provides a forum and public voice for the global port equipment and technology sectors. The Association has see strong growth in recent years, and now has 47 member companies, including crane, equipment and component manufacturers, systems and software providers, consultants and industry experts.
PEMA is playing an increasingly active role in the ports industry. Last year the body established three working groups to discuss issues surrounding safety, the environment and technology. At this year’s TOC Europe, held at the Antwerp Expo, between June 7 and 9, representatives from leading PEMA member companies, their customers and the media will attend a forum where key industry figures are to discuss the future of terminal automation.
PEMA members will also be contributing to other debates taking place during TOC Europe on Safety, Energy & Environmental Conservancy and Container Weights.
