Perbio companies at the top of the growth table The Perbio Science AB subsidiary company Atos Medical's growth has been rapid and persistent and has resulted in a place on this year's Marathon List. Atos Medical is continuing to grow rapidly and persistently by its own devices. This is reflected in the publication of the annual Marathon List by growth consultants Ahrens and the Swedish newspaper, Svenska Dagbladets Näringsliv. The list includes Sweden's 45 fastest growing companies. Atos Medical, which held tenth place on last year's Marathon List, entered this year in seventeenth place. - This is a marathon performance by Atos Medical, with ten years of rapid growth and sustained profitability, says Björn Lönegren, CEO for Ahrens Rapid Growth. Atos Medical is the parent company in Perbio's division Medical Device and a medical device company that develops, manufactures and markets medical device products for the ear, nose and throat as well as products for combating obesity. Since 1991, Atos Medical AB has been growing on average by 35.3 percent annually. Atos Medical AB's turnover in 2001 was SEK 128 million and the company employed 86 people. The division had a turnover of SEK 148 million and employed 116 people. To qualify for a place on the Marathon List, a company must have Swedish majority ownership, and had an average organic increase in turnover of at least 20 percent over the last ten years. In addition it must have at least 50 employees, a turnover of at least SEK 50 million and have been profitable in at least six of the last ten years. On this year's Marathon List, 45 companies have qualified with a growth of over 20 percent, where the winner has a growth of 60 percent. A position on the list is not just a reward for the company's good financial results and sustained growth.
