Perbio Science's subsidiary Atos Medical AB has acquired the business operations of Therabite Corp. Perbio Science's subsidiary Atos Medical AB has acquired the business operations of Therabite Corp., with headquarters in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA. This acquisition further strengthens Atos Medical's position within the ear, nose and throat (ENT) segment, which will give a synergistic effect within the current organization. It will also contribute positively to the operating result of the Perbio Group. Therabite® is a passive training device for patients with trismus, resulting from surgery and/or radiation treatment that gives rise to a condition where the muscles used for chewing become damaged for different reasons. This leads to severely restricted jaw movement causing problems with speech, nutrition and oral hygiene. Today, the patient group that is treated with the Provox® Voice prosthesis and Provox® HME, Atos Medical's main products, often suffers from trismus.
