Perbio strengthens its BioProcess Container operations by acquisition in the USA Perbio Science's subsidiary company HyClone Laboratories, Inc., within the Cell Culture Division, has acquired the operations of Float Mach Inc., based in Novato, California. USA. Since 1980, FMI has developed a high reputation for leading-edge developments in the design, development, and production of flexible packaging used for biopharmaceutical applications. HyClone's acquisition of FMI strengthens the company's BioProcess Container operations by adding substantial engineering, design and manufacturing expertise and capacity. HyClone is a world leader in the manufacture and supply of Bioprocess Containers (BPCs). These flexible single-use containers and components are used for processing and packaging by the biotechnology, pharmaceutical and veterinary industries worldwide. The use of BPCs greatly minimizes the risk of cross-contamination, reduces cleaning validations, and eliminates the need for costly capital investment in stainless steel tanks. "The field of cell culture is growing rapidly and therefore it is strategically important for us to expand our operations in order to satisfy the ever-increasing needs of our customers. The acquisition of FMI helps to do this and to secure our continued strong growth in this area", says Mats Fischier, CEO of Perbio Science.
