Crêchendo helps Weir Link employees to encourage outdoor play
Free training workshop given on 2nd March
8 March 2011 - Crêchendo, one of the UK’s most respected training organisations within the Early Years, Childcare and Playwork sectors is currently supporting local London communities with the opportunity to receive a free half-day training session. Last week, 18 employees at the Weir Link Children’s Community Centre and Nursery in Lambeth took part in one of Crêchendo’s most popular courses – Bees, Trees and Dirty Knees. This workshop helps those involved in childcare to make the most of natural outdoor play environments, including sun safety and making the most of the winter elements. Established in 2003 by local residents, the Weir Link offers a range of services to the community, including social support, childcare, education and training, and opportunities for personal growth and community development. Margaret Hedley, Business Development Manager at the Weir Link said “we aim to provide each child with an outstanding introduction to their education in an exciting, creative and stimulating atmosphere under the supervision of our qualified and experienced staff. Therefore, we were delighted to have the opportunity to work with Crêchendo and to find out more about making play outdoors safe and fun. The workshop was one of the most entertaining and informative courses we have participated in, and I would encourage any community organisation to make the most of this generous offer.” This free course is part of The Crêchendo Community Support Programme which allows successful applicants the opportunity to enhance their skills and increase their learning with an established and highly valued provider of childcare training. Ruth Webster, CEO at Crêchendo says “we recognise that there is considerable budget pressure in the current climate. So, as our values are rooted in the long-term relationships that we have with our customers, participants and trainers, we wanted to offer something back. The Crêchendo Community Support Programme is open to all London Boroughs who would like to receive a free half day training workshop or course in their local setting. Crêchendo will be providing one free course per quarter and are currently accepting applicants for the rest of the year.
