Pergo invests in the US Pergo has decided to invest about USD 16 M in its US operations. The investment includes a DL (direct lamination) press and expansion of the production plant in Garner, North Carolina. The project is estimated to take about 18 months and the DL press should be in operation as of January 2005. As a step in Pergo's strategy, which is built on innovation and design, among other points, Pergo has decided to expand its production facility in Garner with direct lamination. This means that Pergo, which in the past has been unable to produce fully finished direct laminated flooring, now gains control over the entire production process for DL- produced floors. The objective is to use the new capacity for production of Pergo's premium products in the North American market and thus strengthen the local presence. A part of the product range will continue to be produced externally. By increasing the production in the US, Pergo 's net exposure in US- dollars will decrease.
