Pergo’s restructuring project goes according to plan
As part of Pergo’s restructuring project, the company has started Swedish Codetermination Act negotiations at the Perstorp site about letting 60 employees go. As previously announced 120 employees will leave Pergo, through notice of termination and normal resignation. The project is running according to plan.
Pergo’s Board decided to concentrate premium product production in Sweden at Trelleborg in March 2004. The impregnation division with around 30 employees will remain at Perstorp. In conjunction with the decision, the company issued termination notices to 45 employees and announced that around 120 employees would be let go during the change process, most of who are at the Perstorp plant. A number of employees at the Perstorp site have gone to work at Trelleborg The restructuring efforts are going according to plan and the first of two laminate presses to be moved is now operating at the Trelleborg plant. The final restructuring phase is expected to be finished during Q3 2005. In collaboration with union organizations, employment offices and the National Agency for Outplacement, Pergo will make every effort to help its employees find new jobs.
