Electronics Leader to Unveil New Product at Pet-Friendly Conference

BlogPaws Social Media Conference, in conjunction with Sony, announced today that the Sony Dog Harness for its wearable point-of-view camera – the Action Cam – will debut at the 5th annual BlogPaws Conference taking place May 16-18 in Tysons Corner, Virginia.

Sixty-five percent of Americans are parents to some form of pets: from dogs and cats to fish and ferrets. Considering the American Pet Products Association estimates that $56 billion dollars will be spent in the pet industry in 2013, pet bloggers are industry influencers. Brands are now taking notice, sitting up, and perking their heads sideways to get a piece of the pet blogging pie.

Sony will be showcasing Action Cam’s new pet mount for the 500 attendees who will attend the pet-welcoming conference. Comfortably fastened to a canine's back, the AKA-DM1 Dog Harness secures the Action Cam so it can capture full HD video from Fido’s vantage point, in five video modes including a 4x slow mode in 720p HD. Designed to fit medium to large sized dogs, the Action Cam and Dog Harness will be on hand throughout the event for attendees of BlogPaws and their furry friends to test out first hand.

The Action Cam also offers built-in Wi-Fi® which works with a free PlayMemories Mobile™ application that allows users to instantly share their content to a smartphone and also allows control of the camera with any compatible device.  Additionally, Wi-Fi enabled mobile phones and tablets running the app can pull optimized movies and photos from the HDR-AS15 camera without requiring a special cable.  Once copied, you can use an available 3G or 4G cell network to upload your footage and share them via email or social media networks.

The BlogPaws Pet Blogging & Social Media Conference is the largest event of its kind for pet bloggers and social media enthusiasts to network with industry leaders and brands and learn new ways to optimize and monetize their social media channels. New to the 2013 Conference are custom-designed tracks, including 101 (Beginners), 201 (Intermediate), and PRO (Advanced). There will also be exclusive tracks for those interested in animal rescue and advocacy, understanding copyright and the legal responsibilities around social media, and pet lifestyle.

The conference officially kicks off in Tysons Corner on May 16th at 1:00 PM with a variety of attendee options: Including a video workshop with filmmaker Kenn Bell or a choice of session, an Intro to Google Analytics, a round table discussion with veterinarians and bloggers, a Be The Change For Pets session about how a small cat rescue stepped up and helped in the wake of Sandy Hook and a session to help address the marketing needs of rescues for both bloggers wanting to help and the rescues that need the assistance.

Thursday evening’s opening event will feature the entertainment of Ron Trotta and Schmitty the Weather Dog, where canine guests are invited to try out Sony’s Action Cam and Dog Harness.  All pet enthusiasts are welcome! http://blogpawsconference.com
