petMD.com Lists the Top Five things Your Dog Would Do if He Were the Boss
Miami, Fla. – June 21, 2012 – Friday, June 22ndis Take Your Dog to Work Day, a time to celebrate dogs and promote canine adoption. According to a petMD survey, 85% of pet owners would bring their dog to work with them if they could, but this begs the question, what would your dog do if he went to work? This is why petMD.com has put together the following list of the top 5 things your dog would do if he were the boss.
1. Put a Stop to Office Politics: The expression, “it’s a dog-eat-dog world” could not reflect a dog’s nature more inaccurately if it tried. Dogs are loving, kind, and supportive, and would set policies ensuring that employees looked after one another and treated each other in a considerate manner.
2. Mandate Playtime/Exercise Hours: Dogs (and humans) can get antsy if they sit around too long, so it would only be natural for the new boss to designate a specific hour for playtime each day. Whether it was spent doing Doga (dog yoga), or running around in the corporate dog park, we are sure that it would help creativity and productivity in the office.
3. Remove Office Chocolate: Who doesn’t get that afternoon chocolate craving? But when your boss is a dog, it has to go! Chocolate is poisonous to dogs, and depending on the type and amount of chocolate ingested, could be potentially fatal.
4. Fire the Mailman: The office would become extremely unproductive if every time the mail carrier came, the new boss’ canine instincts kicked in and he chased him or her out of the office! Rather, if a dog were the boss, employees would have to rely on other methods of communication like e-mail or personal interaction- both of which are better for the environment anyway!
5. Extend Corporate Benefits to Office Pets: A health insurance policy should allow you to have all of your family members added to your plan, including your family pets! In a time when veterinary costs are adding up, making sure employees have a pet health insurance policy for all of the pets in their homes would be one of the boss’ new goals.
