The Austrian premium manufacturer pewag has been a complete supplier of tracks and chains for forestry machines for two years now. At Elmia Wood in Jönköping on 7–10 June, pewag will be presenting its whole range, including the new bluetrack combitrack.

pewag has been well-known in the Nordic countries for many years for its top-quality high-performance chains. The launch of bluetrack in 2015 extended the range to include equally high-quality tracks. Both the tracks and the chains are made entirely in Europe, which makes pewag unique in the industry.

“We offer a complete range of forestry products. These include the bluetrack tracks, the well-known forestry chains and our utility chains for transport,” says Maria Köck, General Manager, Snow and Traction Chains.

When pewag bluetrack was launched in the Nordic countries, it came in three models:

•        pewag bluetrack perfekt, which is designed to handle extremely tough conditions. The track has been specially developed for steep and stony terrain. The shape of the track links provides optimum grip and reduces the risk of snow and mud lodging between the tyres and the track.

•        pewag bluetrack duro, which is a universal all-round track whose wide surface and rounded edges are kind to the ground. It is a track perfectly suited to standard uses in the forestry sector. Provides optimum grip on any surface.

•        pewag bluetrack flow, which is specially designed for use in light terrain and on delicate surfaces. The wide tread prevents the machine from sinking into soft ground and protects the tyres from sharp stones and stumps.

These three models have now been supplemented with the new pewag bluetrack combitrack, which is a combination between the bluetrack flow and bluetrack perfekt, adapted for various different conditions. All models will be on display on pewag’s stand at Elmia Wood.

“It is really worth coming to Elmia Wood to see the newly-developed, innovative bluetrack combitrack. Also bluetrack flow wide, which is a version of bluetrack flow specially designed to protect the ground in sensitive terrain,” says Maria Köck.

Together with pewag’s knowledgeable staff on the stand, visitors will have the opportunity to discuss specific and individual solutions for all sorts of challenges in forestry. Hans Nicklasson, Sales Manager for pewag sweden, will be at the show.

“I want to highlight the bluetrack flow wide, which increases carrying capacity and can be used on wet ground. This is the type of track in the greatest demand in the Nordic countries,” he says.

With over 500 exhibitors and 50,000 visitors from 50 countries, Elmia Wood is the world’s largest international forestry show. As usual, pewag will have a stand stuffed with new ideas and innovative products. Visitors can also find out more about the excellent service endorsed by many of its Nordic customers.

“We are very grateful for the valuable and repeated feedback that we get from machine operators and people in the forestry industry giving us their requirements and suggestions for tracks and chains,” says Maria Köck, concluding:

“pewag also has close relationships with machinery and tyre manufacturers, which means that we are always up to date when it comes to the latest products and technology. We can then develop our products accordingly.”
