Galderma has now started the launch of Metvix in Australia. Several launch activities were conducted for selected opinion leaders in Australia in connection with the annual Australasian College of Dermatologists meeting in Sydney, Australia.

Metvix is PhotoCure's novel photodynamic therapy for the treatment of actinic keratosis and basal cell carcinoma. The Metvix treatment procedure involves application of Metvix and subsequent light illumination with Aktilite, PhotoCure's proprietary light source.  Galderma is PhotoCure's marketing partner for Metvix outside of the Nordic countries.

The launch will be followed by local training of dermatologists. Galderma has established several centres of excellence in Australia to ensure solid theoretical and practical training of doctors who wish to start practising treatment using Metvix. Another key element of ensuring the commercial success of Metvix in Australia is Galderma's programme of equipping clinical centres with the Aktilite light sources supplied by PhotoCure.

In addition, Galderma has now also initiated launch of Metvix in Belgium and Switzerland.
During 2003, Galderma initiated launch activities for Metvix in Germany, UK and New Zealand.
