For immediate release July 2009 PITMANS ACTS FOR SPORT MAGAZINE PUBLISHERS IN ITS SALE TO UTV Pitmans, a leading commercial law firm in the Thames Valley, has acted on behalf of Sports Media & Strategy Limited, the publishers of the free weekly magazine Sport, in its administration sale to Irish media group, UTV. The transaction was led by Corporate Solicitor, Sarah Ilic. Sport magazine was launched in the UK in September 2006, and is mainly distributed in Central London, posting an audited distribution of 317,209 copies a week on average for the second half of 2008, according to the latest ABC data. It ceased publication following the collapse of its French parent company, Sport Media & Strategie in April 2009. The sale of the business to UTV will enable this well respected brand to continue, backed up by the strength of TalkSport.
