For immediate release 19 October 2009 PITMANS RAISES FUNDS FOR CANCER RESEARCH UK Thames Valley award winning law firm Pitmans continued its fundraising activities last week, by sponsoring and hosting a cancer awareness wine tasting event on Tuesday 13th October, in aid of Cancer Research UK. Chronicles Wine Bar, Reading kindly donated its venue, with Bruce Perry, Eaux De Vie Limited donating his wine tasting expertise, and Pitmans provided the wine, refreshments and staff. The event was an immense success, with Steve Netherton of Credit Agricole Commercial Finance Limited generously contributing the fruits of its own fundraising efforts in aid of Cancer Research UK, resulting in a combined total of approximately £2,000 raised. Pitmans thrive in supporting national charities. On Sunday 11th October 2009, Partner David Archer and Directors Jackie Tang and Parminder Latimer took part in the Royal Parks Foundation Half Marathon, raising money for their preferred charities, Marie Curie and Right to Play. Commenting on the Pitmans event, Jo Patching of Cancer Research UK said: "Events like Pitmans’ Wine Tasting is a wonderful way for people to get together and do something fun as well as raise money for a vital cause. We need everyone in Reading to ‘Join the fight for women’s survival'. Our research is making a real impact on breast cancer survival but there is still a long way to go. We need you to help us fight harder."
