PLAGAZI ANNOUNCES SUPPORT FROM THE EUROPEAN INVESTMENT BANK WITH FINANCIAL ADVISORY FOR KÖPING HYDROGEN PARK
The services will pertain to financial advisory for project development in Köping Hydrogen Park and will be provided by the European Investment Bank (EIB) free of charge.
This support, comparable to a grant, will provide invaluable expertise to the development of Köping Hydrogen Park when it comes to furthering the project financing, and is an incredible enabler for Plagazi’s potential as a pioneer in the waste-to-hydrogen market and hydrogen transition as a whole. Having EIB onboard as advisor in this capacity will ensure that the project continues to head in the right way when it comes to securing financing in a challenging climate.
The European Investment Bank is the lending arm of the European Union, and one of the biggest multilateral financial institutions in the world and one of the largest providers of climate finance. They make technical and financial expertise available to beneficiaries to develop and implement investment projects and programmes, and to improve institutional and regulatory frameworks. These services are approached from strategic, market, and project standpoints to account for the entire development process.
The EIB has provided loans and expert advice for thousands of projects in over 160 countries and invested over a trillion euros since 1959. Their engagements in sustainable energy project stem largely from the EIB Group Climate Bank Roadmap 2021-2025 which outlines their goals for climate finance that supports the European Green Deal and helps make Europe carbon-neutral by 2050.
“Securing advisory services from EIB in this capacity is an incredible milestone for KHP and Plagazi as a whole. In a currently globally challenging financing climate for sustainable and renewable energy projects, this is a huge vote of confidence for the promising contributions that KHP and Plagazi will make in the hydrogen market once the project becomes operational. We are grateful and excited to be working closer with EIB for the financing process for KHP and to further learn from their expertise.” – Gustav Granberg, CEO Plagazi AB (publ)
