PLAGAZI INVITED AS KEY SPEAKER AT HYDROGEN SEMINAR IN SWEDISH PARLIAMENT ALONGSIDE LEADING HYDROGEN PLAYERS
On the 8th of March, Plagazi was invited to present our innovative and patented production process as part of a hydrogen seminar hosted in the Swedish Parliament. Alongside Plagazi’s CEO, Torsten Granberg, were representatives of other prominent leaders in the Swedish hydrogen sector such as Vätgas Sverige, Energiföretagen, H2 Green Steel, and Energigas Sverige, amongst others.
The seminar was held as part of a national initiative to further grow the public perception and understanding of the important role hydrogen needs play to reach our climate and energy goals, also including the fact that Sweden has the national infrastructure and facilities to play a leading role in the development of the European hydrogen industry. Other important topics, such as the global outlook of hydrogen, how Sweden can benefit from its implementation, the possibilities and challenges facing Swedish companies and what support is needed to cover the energy requirements, were covered by Plagazi and the speakers.
Plagazi’s focus during the seminar was addressing Sweden’s need for green, competitive and self-sustainable energy infrastructure, and how Plagazi can play a part in fulfilling this need whilst simultaneously creating a more circular economy with regards to un-recyclable waste and reduction of CO2 emissions.
Additionally, Plagazi’s compatibility with the EU’s currently evolving Renewable Energy Directive II and the EU Taxonomy was emphasized to further promote hydrogen derived from alternative sources as a mature and viable alternative to more mainstream production methods as electrolysis. Other important points of improvement addressed to the Swedish politicians present included the need for a neutral approach to hydrogen production methodologies, whilst acceleration of the grid expansion and other relevant infrastructure, a level playing field for state aid, as well as further emphasis on the cost of emitting CO2 is required.
“Presenting Plagazi’s innovative hydrogen production process alongside such leading players within the hydrogen and sustainability sectors was an exciting and promising opportunity for us to highlight how we could make a tangible difference in the development of the hydrogen economy right now. I do believe that the insight provided by the presenting companies and the topics covered during the seminar will leave a strong impression upon the political landscape of Sweden and help decision-making advance to the next level.” – Torsten Granberg, CEO Plagazi AB (publ)
